Mastering the Smokey Eye: 5 Expert Tutorials

THIS POST MAY CONTAIN AFFILIATE LINKS.

A couple of months ago, I shared 5 tutorials to teach you (and me!) how to apply eyeshadow properly, and I was surprised at how many clicks and shares it got on Pinterest.

(If you missed that post, you can read it RIGHT HERE)

As it turns out, I’m not the only one who struggles with blending and shading and everything else that goes along with trying to make my eyes pop.

So when I was searching for tips and tricks to teach me how to apply perfect SMOKEY eye makeup the other night, I figured I would put it into a post in hopes there’s at least one other person in the world who loves this look but has NO CLUE how to get it.

Make sure to watch the second tutorial – the scotch tape trick is amazing!

If you love that sexy smokey eye makeup look but have no clue what eyeshadow to buy or how to apply it, then this collection of tutorials is just what you need!

1. Smokey Eyes for Beginners by stillGLAMOROUS

The dark shadow had me nervous at first, but she REALLY pulls the look together. Make sure to watch it to the end!

2. Smokey Cat Eye by Jaclyn Hill

This is by far the best smokey cat eye tutorial I’ve ever watched. Jaclyn has a way of making makeup look so easy, and her energy always makes me excited to try new looks out. Also? I love love love the scotch tape trick!

3. Gold Smokey Eye Tutorial by Teni Panosian

I love this color combo, but if you find the colors are too dark for your liking, just skip the step of wetting your brush first. It will still look fantastic, but the colors won’t be quite as dramatic.

4. Holiday Berry Silver & Crystal Smokey Eye Tutorial by Maya Mia

This is a bit more dramatic, and I’m not sure if I could pull it off, but I love the color combo and the little diamonds she uses, so I had to share this tutorial. If you have the right personality, you definitely need to give this a go!

5. Clubbing Smokey Eye Makeup Tutorial by Lauren Curtis

If you have a big night out planned (spoiler alert: I don’t), this tutorial is for you. The finished look is a bit over-the-top for me, but I would’ve LOVED this when I was in my 20s!
